Douglas Eugene Layne age74 of Woodlawn Virginia passed away Thursday February 12 2026 at his home. Douglas was born in Danville Virginia on January 14 1952 to Andrew Jackson Layne Jr. and Mildred Louise Funk Layne. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Hill Layne son Matthew Layne stepsons Dale Patton Stacey Corey Patton Elizabeth and six grandchildren Nicholas Kyla Haley Lexie Severn Carsen Alexis and Brody. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 200 PM in the VaughanGuynn Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bedsaul officiating. Burial will follow in the Coal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 100 PM until time for the service at the VaughanGuynn Funeral Home.
