Terms of Service

Effective: February 13, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

The Obituary Section (theobituarysection.com) is owned and operated by Who Passed On, LLC. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” throughout these terms refer to Who Passed On, LLC and its property, The Obituary Section. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website.

Description of Service

The Obituary Section is an obituary aggregation service that collects and displays publicly available obituary notices from funeral homes across the United States. We provide a searchable, browsable directory of obituary listings organized by state, county, and date.

We do not author, edit, or verify the content of individual obituary notices. Each obituary listing links to the originating funeral home’s website where the full obituary was published. The Obituary Section serves as a directory and does not host the complete original content.

Use of the Website

You may use The Obituary Section for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from this website using automated tools without prior written permission. You agree not to reproduce, redistribute, or republish obituary listings or any content from this website without authorization. You agree not to use the website in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the website or its systems.

Subscriptions and Payments

The Obituary Section offers both free and paid subscription access. Free users may view obituary listings from the current day and two previous days. Paid subscribers may access obituary archives up to fourteen days in the past.

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe’s terms of service. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number or payment card details — all payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access until that date. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

Subscription charges will appear on your bank or credit card statement as “THE OBITUARY SECTION.” In some cases, your financial institution may display the charge under our parent company name, “Who Passed On, LLC.” Both refer to the same subscription service.

Obituary Content and Accuracy

Obituary notices displayed on The Obituary Section are sourced from publicly available funeral home websites. We make reasonable efforts to present this information accurately, but we do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of any obituary listing.

If you are a funeral home or family member and believe an obituary listing is inaccurate, incomplete, or should be removed, please contact us at contact@theobituarysection.com and we will address your request promptly.

Intellectual Property

The design, layout, and original content of The Obituary Section — including its name, visual presentation, and all associated branding — are the property of Who Passed On, LLC. Obituary content displayed on this site remains the property of the respective funeral homes and families who authored it.

Third-Party Links

Each obituary listing contains a link to the originating funeral home’s website. The Obituary Section is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of these external websites. Visiting a linked funeral home website is at your own discretion.
