Thomas J. Bopp Jr. 78 of Williamstown passed away suddenly Wednesday evening February 11 2026 at the Orwigsburg Center. Born in Williamstown on Monday February 24 1947 a son of the late Thomas Sr. and Lorraine Hoffman Bopp. He was a 1965 graduate of the Williamstown Catholic High School. He was a longtime member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Williamstown where he served as the president of the parish council for several years. He was a current member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Lykens. Tom was also a very active member of Liberty Hose Company 1 Williamstown where he served as chief of the fire police and served on numerous committees at the fire company. Richard Sofsky, 82, of Nesquehoning, died Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his residence. He was the husband of Sherin-Lee (Skerry) Sofsky with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on February 8th.Born in Queens, New York, Richard was the son of the late Emil, Sr. and Elizabeth (Pavalishan) Sofsky. He dedicated many years of service as a custodial engineer with the New York Department of Education in Whitestone, retiring in 2008.Richard gave generously of both his time and resources. He served as General Services Secretary of Alcoholics Anonymous and supported numerous charitable organizations close to his heart. Proud of his New York roots, he loved the New York Giants and built lasting relationships with the tenants of his rental properties.
