Eldon Ray Smith Jr. born January 31 1936 passed away peacefully on February 11 2026 at his home in St. Louis Missouri. He was born in Moberly Missouri to Eldon Ray Smith Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Bowden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother. Eldon is lovingly remembered by his daughter Jacqueline Rae Smith Freelon grandson Lawrence Woods his granddaughters Tara Walters and Kenya Walters and his life partner Arlene McGee other relatives and friends. Eldon graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelors degree in Agriculture. He dedicated much of his professional life to working for the federal government as an agricultural scientist where he conducted soybean research at the University of Missouri.
