Our beloved mother and grandmother Charlene Dorothy Burgun Henry 83 passed away peacefully on February 4 2026 in Decatur Georgia. Charlene was born in 1942 in Atlanta Georgia to Charles W. Burgun and Marguerite Sapp. She grew up in West Palm Beach Florida and graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1960. In 1964 she graduated from Florida State University with a bachelors degree in education. She was a dedicated educator teaching kindergarten and first grade both in Tallahassee Florida and Dallas Georgia. She loved childrens literature and teaching young children to read. Some of her favorite books were If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Charlottes Web and Be Nice to Spiders. Charlenes happiest times were when she was spending time with family cooking and enjoying a cold CocaCola. She was an amazing cook who made the best macaroni and cheese and chocolate chess pie.
