Gene R. Breu age 86 of Marshfield passed away peacefully early on January 28 2026 at the House of the Dove surrounded by family and friends. Gene was born on September 24 1939. The son of Anton and Teresa Breu. He was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1957 and worked at Felker Brothers most of his life as a welder and a truck driver. He always enjoyed the annual reunions. Gene was an avid outdoorsman. He loved the camaraderie of hunting getting a 9point buck in 2023. But fishing has always been his favorite hobby. He went fishing to Canada more than 30 times. He knew where the fish were biting and often joked that he needed to have a family fish fry to keep him legal.
