It is with profound sadness that the family of Julius Berger announce his homegoing. This also serves as the time to reflect on the life and impact that Julius made during his time with us. Julius a product of the gritty South Bronx the "Urban Jungle" who from an early age often found himself involved in the criminal justice system. As an adult he relocated to Virginia hoping to leave behind the streets of the big city only to find confinement in a penal institution situated in the idyllic charm of the South located beyond the MasonDixon line. Having to serve time turned out to be the path for liberation spiritual growth and intellectual enhancement for him. In 2015 Mr. Berger was the focus of an article printed in the Free Lance Star entitled "Fredericksburg resident enrolled at the University of Virginia after spending seven years behind bars".
