Bro. James Duyne Hooper age 91 of Dyersburg TN passed away on Tuesday February 10 2026 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born on November 2 1934 to the late J.L. and Ludie French Hooper James was a devoted husband father grandfather and greatgrandfather. He was a retired Pastor Emeritus having served for 31 years at Emmaus Baptist Church in Newbern TN and continued to serve as a supply pastor for several churches after his retirement. A graduate of Trimble High School he was the Valedictorian of his class. James also worked as a Terminal Manager for several trucking companies. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday February 13 2026 at Rehoboth Cemetery with Bro. Tyler Childress and Bro. Jimmy Clay officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.…
