Douglas Wayne Evans 82 passed away on February 10 2026. Born in Durham County North Carolina Doug lived a full life marked by service curiosity and deep devotion to the people he loved. A proud veteran Doug served his country in the United States Navy an experience that shaped his sense of duty discipline and patriotism. After completing his service he graduated from Campbell University and went on to build a long and successful career with IBM from which he retired with admiration from colleagues and friends. Doug had a remarkable appreciation for craftsmanship and the beauty of simple things. He found joy in gardening woodworking and collecting antiqueshobbies that reflected his patient spirit and attention to detail. Larry Edward Blackwell 77 of Oxford passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 11 2026 at his favorite place in this world his home surrounded by those he loved the most. Born on March 14 1948 in Richmond County GA he was the son of the late Annie Lee Jones and Willis Edward Blackwell. Larry loved his wife children grandchildren and great grandsons with all he had. He was a steadfast member of Tally Ho First Baptist Church in Stem where he taught Sunday School for the senior adults and spread the word of God. Larry served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a hardworking man retiring from Durham Public Schools Transportation Department after many years of service. Larry was a man who kept his hands busy. He enjoyed reading on his porch swing to further his understanding of Gods word keeping a fire going in the back…
