BOBBY JOE HICKS age 87 of Roxboro NC passed away Wednesday morning February 11 2026 at his home. Born August 12 1938 in Person County NC son of the late Ernest Bradsher Hicks Maggie Lou Clayton Hicks and was husband of 66 years to Delores Cole Hicks who survives. Bobby was Mr. Sears for 35 years and then started Hicks Home Improvements which he ran for 25 years until his retirement in 2020. He was a member of the Roxboro Bible Church was a member of the Full Gospel Business Men USA where he served as president for a number of years and was a veteran of the NC National Guard. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Chris J. DORIS JEAN HICKS GENTRY age 71 of Mayo Lake passed away Tuesday morning February 10 2026 at her home. Born April 26 1954 in Granville County NC beloved daughter of the late Clarence Thomas Ida Lucille Ellis Hicks. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Ray Charles Gentry whom she loved deeply and longed to see again. Their love was steadfast and enduring and we take comfort in knowing that they are reunited. Surviving are her loving siblings Clarence T. C.T. Hicks Jr. wife Carolyn Charles G. Hicks wife Barbara all of Roxboro NC Julia H. Poole of Myrtle Beach SC. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children.
