David W. Benoit passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 28 2026. A devoted father grandfather and friend David lived a life filled with curiosity generosity and a deep love for the outdoors. Born and raised in Upton Massachusetts David discovered his lifelong passion for fly fishing at a young age under the guidance of his father. He spent countless days fishing for brook trout in local streams and on family trips to Rangeley Maine. Following his service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War David settled in Southern New Hampshire in 1979 where he continued to explore the waters of New England the New York Catskills and the Canadian Maritimes. His dedication to the art of fly fishing led him to earn his Master Certified Casting Instructor accreditation from the Federation of Fly Fishers now Fly Fishers International.
