Raymond P Garand, 83, of Oxford, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on October 7, 1942, to the late Raymond Arsene and Yvonne (Mignault) Garand. He was a 1962 graduate of St Johnsbury Academy in St Johnsbury, Vt.Ray joined the United States Army right out of high school. He was stationed at Schofield Barrachs in Hawaii, and served in Vietnam from 1962 to 1965. Ray married his high school sweetheart, Frances Fournier, as soon as he returned home. They raised two daughters, which he loved dearly, and welcomed two sons-in-law into the family, which he loved as sons.Ray came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior in the 1970’s. He loved reading his Bible, and was a man of prayer. He was often overheard quietly praying for his family. He was just a great…
