James Ray Richeson, 70, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born June 29, 1955 in Daviess County to Barbara “Sue” Renfrow McCoy and the late Donald R. Richeson. He was a 1973 graduate of Owensboro High School. James received his Bachelor’s Degree in horticulture from University of Kentucky in 1979. He worked as a self-employed landscaper and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Richeson; and a special cousin, Judy Renfrow.He is survived by his mother, Barbara “Sue” McCoy; a half-brother, Shane McCoy; half-sisters, Shari Shimeall and Stacy Fischesser; special uncle, Earnest Renfrow Jr. (Betty); and aunts, Linda Renfrow, Paula Renfrow (Bobby), and Shirley Renfrow (Sterling).Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at James H.…

Naomi Lee Melhiser, 89, of Philpot passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Owensboro Health. Naomi was born in Butler County on January 19, 1937 to the late Aubrey and Calverna Phelps Bryant. She was a member at Bellview Baptist Church.
