Richard Cordell passed away on the morning of February 6th 2026 after a short illness surrounded by family. Richard served in the Army during the Korean War until June 1955 when he suffered a head injury that lead him to an honorable discharge. Richard received multiple medals which included a purple heart. The Purple Heart was very important to him and he had it by his side all the way to the end. Richard had pride in serving his country and had no regrets in serving. He also received a Vietnam hat that we wore every day everywhere with honor. Richard later met Mary Marlean who he married in April 1965 and had four children John Mary K Rachel and Jennifer. His four children gave him seven grandchildren who gave him great grandchildren.
