LAYFIELDDavid Eueil Layfield, 63, of Green Cove Springs, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at his home.David was born in Alabama and had lived in Green Cove Springs for most of his life. He had worked as a dairy farmer for many years. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. He especially loved spending time with his best friend and companion, Cheryl. He wasn’t a “religious” man, but he did believe in God.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Eleanor Layfield; his wife, Sandy Layfield; two brothers, William Layfield and Jack Layfield; and three sisters, Amy Barber, Elaine Cooper, and Barbara Holland.He is survived by his best friend and companion, Cheryl Thacker; two brothers, James Layfield and Mike Layfield; a sister, Robin Cranford; numerous nieces and nephews; and his close friend who was more like a brother, James Thorton.Funeral services will be…
