Darlene Louise Taylor

Darlene Louise Taylor was born on July 20 1944 in Harvey Illinois. She was the daughter of Frank Eugene Taylor and Dorothy Mabel Gerth. Alongside her three brothers Garry Greg and Tot she moved with her family to Tipton Iowa. Darlene married Woodrow Bud Pettit and together they had two children Daniel and Angela. Though Darlene and Woodrow later separated she courageously raised thier two children on her own even as one child battled a serious kidney disease. Eventually she relocated her little family of three to Mesa Arizona. Later in life Darlene met and married DJ Colvin a retired Air Force veteran. Together they realized her lifelong dream by opening Dars Styling Den a beauty salon in Mesa. After DJs passing in 1998 Darlene continued operating the salon for several years until she retired. Rosella Amerson Lewis lovingly known as Rosie was born on March 14 1929 in Okemah Oklahoma to Bertie Amerson and MaryAnn Singleton Amerson. She passed quietly on January 22 2026. She was the fourth of six children. At age six her family moved to Arizona eventually settling in Mesa which remained her home most of her life. Raised during the Great Depression Rosie learned early the importance of hard work and selfreliance. She began working as a teenager and carried that strong work ethic throughout her life spending more than 26 years in retail including 15 12 years with Kmart as an assistant manager of the garden center. Rosie was married twice and was a devoted mother to three children. As a Navy wife she lived in several places including California Maryland Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
