Jewell grew up on a family farm and carried those values throughout her life. She shared 71 devoted years of marriage with her husband Fred James Curtis. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred and her son Merlin Wayne Curtis. She is survived by her son Fred James Curtis Jr. Crystina Brown and her daughter Pamela Olsen Tracy Olsen.
