Betty Jean (Goggans) Garrett, born October 6, 1942, entered Heaven on February 11, 2026 at the age of 83, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease and diabetes.She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John; daughter, Karen Garrett; son, Brian Garrett; sister, Kay Bundrick; brother, Don Goggans (Cathy); sister-in-law, Mary Ruth McWhorter.Graduate of Phillips High, Samford University, and the University of Alabama. After a short teaching career at Hewitt Trussville High School, she became a full-time Mom and Sunday School teacher to senior adult ladies at Westwood Baptist, First Baptist Center Point, and Deerfoot Baptist Church. She was a member of First Baptist Church Trussville. Betty and John enjoyed travel that included 48 states and 30 countries.Visitation will be held on February 17, 2026 at 9AM and a memorial service at 10AM in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Trussville.
