Robert Cochran “Bob” Morgan passed away peacefully Thursday, February 19, 2015, in Longview, Texas, five days prior to his seventy-first birthday.
Bob was born on February 24, 1944, in La Jolla, California, but Longview was his home. He attended Miss Ruby Stewart’s Private School in first grade, South Ward Elementary School, Foster Junior High and graduated sixth in his Longview high School of 1961. During his senior year, he was affectionately voted “Most Dependable” by his classmates. An avid Longhorn fan, Bob received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas- Austin in 1965. Following graduation, he worked as a bookkeeper for a publishing company in California and later moved to Dallas where he was employed in the accounting department of Mary K Cosmetics. He returned to Longview to retire where he enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bird watching and spending time with close friends.
Bob will be remembered for his compassion for others and unconditional friendship.
Special acknowledgement and appreciation is expressed for the ICU and second floor nurses and doctors at Longview Regional Medical Center during Bob’s valiant final struggle with COPD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Elanzo "Bill" Morgan and Phyllis Cochran Morgan; and his brother, Jim Morgan, all of Longview. Also preceding him in death were his good friends Dr. Jack Covin and Sterlin Barton.
He is survived by a cousin, Bob A. Sherrill and wife, Kay, of Baldwin, Missouri; and life-long friends, Emily Erisman Myers, Patricia Fuller Sandison, Phyllis Throckmorton Shaw, Ann Thomas Hamilton and Sue Melton Rathburn plus many special friends.
