Myra Mae Sandefur White was born on October 16, 1927, to Newt and Linnie Sandefur, in Hopkins Co. Texas. On January 9, 2018, Myra gained her angel wings and went to her Heavenly home while surrounded by her family in the comfort of her earthly home.
The service and celebration of Myra’s life will be Friday, January 12th, at 2:00pm at Eastside Baptist Church, Rusk, under the direction of Wallace Thompson Funeral Home, with the Reverends Don Copeland, Mike Bradford, Dan Rankin, and James Palmer, officiating. Visitation will be Thurs., Jan. 11th, from 6pm-8pm at Wallace Thompson.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. “Alvie” White, two sisters, Claudia Carlisle and Rebecca Powell, and son-in-law Ronny Miller.
Myra is survived by her children: Geneva Miller (Rusk), Ann White and son-in-law Robert Phillips (Rusk), and Julius White (Dallas). Grandchildren Teresa Spaine, Stacey Tugwell and husband Michael, and Michael Harris and Michael Parmer. Great grandchildren Brittany and Lauren Spaine, Lance and Lainie Tugwell, and McKayla Harris. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth and Ken Douglas, and Gracie and Thomas McLemore. Numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Myra, (aka Mom and Mamaw), was born on the family farm. After high school she married Alvie on Oct. 10, 1945. They moved to Rusk, Tx in 1953, where they made a nice life raising 3 children, while building a successful construction company and cattle ranch. Myra was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Rusk for approximately 50 years. She enjoyed working in the garden, her yard, and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Godly woman with a heart of gold, who loved everyone and was loved by everyone. Family was the center of her life.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Lance Tugwell, Michael Tugwell, Richard Massingill, Butch Walley, R.S. Dyess, Dennis Morris, Jack White, and Dusty Lee.
