Memorial graveside services for Mr. Bill Lawless, 68, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Inurnment will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Lawless passed away September 22, 2017 in Carthage.
Mr. William Taylor “Bill” Lawless was born July 14, 1949 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bill was one of three children born to Jimmie and Opal Holland Lawless. He was raised in Panola County and graduated from Elysian Fields High School. Mr. Lawless worked in the oil field industry for many years and loved being outdoors hunting and playing golf. Bill also served his country through the United States Marine Corps. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Thomas Lawless.
Mr. Lawless is survived by his daughter, Nicole Coleman and husband Rusty of Beckville; granddaughter, Jaycee Coleman; sister, Sherry Martin and husband Don of Carthage; nieces, Tiffani May and husband Kevin of Carthage, Teel Hooper of Bossier City; Nephews, James David Lawless and Johnny Dale Lawless both of DeBerry; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
The family wishes to say a very special “Thank You” to the staff and nurses of Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Facility and Heart’s Way Hospice. Especially to Angela Hurst, Nikki Causey, Bobbie Helton and Phil Hodson.
The family has requested that donations be made in Bill’s name to the Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 243, Panola, Texas 75685 or to Heart’s Way Hospice of Northeast Texas, 437 W. Panola St., Carthage, Texas 75633.
