A Celebration of Life for Lloyd E. Lindsey, 97, of Liberty City will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Rev. Keith Wilkerson officiating. Mr. Lindsey completed his earthly journey on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Kilgore. 

Lloyd was born on August 18, 1920, in Roswell, NM to Richard and Emma Lindsey. He was an avid sports fan, especially the University of Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas Rangers. His family carries on the love of sports that he passed down to them. Lloyd will be missed for his joking, being the life of the party, working in his yard and being able to fix anything with duct-tape. He was a long time and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Liberty City. He was a member of the Danville # 101 A.F & A.M Masonic Lodge. Lloyd’s family was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Ruby Lindsey of Liberty City; children, Russell Lindsey and his wife Linda of Dallas, Gary Lindsey and his wife Leighann of Ft. Worth, Kim Holcomb and her husband Matt of Longview; grandchildren, Matthew Lindsey, Garrett Lindsey, Jacob Lindsey, Sarah Lindsey, Addison Holcomb and a sister, Jean Parnell. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, brother Wesley Lindsey and sisters Zula Allen, Velma Nutt, Relda Lamb, Eula Lindsey and Dean Green.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Kilgore Health and Rehabilitation Center, especially Linda Cobb, Evelyn Thomas and Ella Mae Walker, as well as Heart to Heart Hospice for the excellent and loving care that they provided for Mr. Lindsey during the final days of his earthly journey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service.
