Services for Johnny Earvin Moses Sr., 67, of Diboll will be held Saturday, January, 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
In the Church of the Living God, 1002 Cypress St., Diboll, TX. Burial will follow in the Diboll Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Church of the Living God in Diboll
Johnny Earvin Moses, Sr. was born to the union of Solomon and Delia Lee Wyatt Moses on February 6, 1950. He was the fifth of six children. He attended school at Temple High School through the 11th grade and then graduated from Diboll High School in the class of 1968. Soon after graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably for a tour of duty, a portion of which he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifetime member of the Church of the Living God, P.G.T, Diboll. He loved the Lord and knew Jesus as his savior.
He was the proud and loving father of 1 son and 3 daughters and grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, who affectionately called him "PaPa".
On Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 8:15 p.m., Earvin went from his labor to his reward, surrounded by loving family members, at the Hospice Unit of the VA Hospital in Dallas, TX.
To cherish his memory, Earvin leaves his son: Johnny E. Moses, Jr. (Melinda), Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters: Delia LaShawn Moses-Hamilton (Clarence), Fayetteville, North Carolina; Sheria LaFaye Moses-Cassell (Prince), Eastvale, California; and LaQunna LaSha Brown-Perry (Alshawn), Grand Prairie,
TX. Grandchildren: Latresa Moses -Jefferies, Johnny E., Ill, and Deondre Moses, Jabriel Traylor, Natalya Coleman, Prince, Jr. and Jordan Cassell, Jasmine, Ashari and Princess Cassell, Amyah and Amari Loche and Kennedi Perry. Great-Grandson: Christopher Fisher. Sisters: Barbara Calloway and Joy Burnett (Ron), both of San Antonio, TX; Brothers: Marvin Moses (Beryl) and Charles E. Moses Sr. (Calron Ann), both of Diboll, TX. Uncle: Herman Louis, Sr., Brooklyn, NY. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Earvin was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Delia Moses; his brother, Solomon Moses, Jr.; brother-in-law Robert Calloway and niece, Crystal Calloway.
