Funeral services for Dorothy Margaret (Crawford) Helmuth, age 94, of Tyler, Texas are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 8, 2017 in the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas with Pastor Brett Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Flat Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home. Mrs. Helmuth died Saturday, September 2, 2017 in a Tyler nursing center. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 5, 1923 to the late James and Della (Fromhold) Crawford and was a longtime resident of Tyler. Mrs. Helmuth worked as a piano and organ music teacher and played organ for many years for Calvary Baptist Church in Tyler. She was a member of the Lindale Garden Club and the Crossbrand Cowboy Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Helmuth in 2013; granddaughter, Pamala Scott in 2003; 2 brothers, Gordon Crawford and James Crawford.
Mrs. Helmuth is survived by her children, Margaret Sperry of Florida, James Helmuth and wife, Margaret of Tyler, Texas, Donna Van Ness and husband, Bobby of Tyler, Texas and Carol Brock and husband, Larry of Gilmer, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Vickery, Kyle Kasey, David Cerqua, Caleb Warren, Nathan Dearing and Rick Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
