Doran Louis “Al” Alexander, 70, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 2017, at his home in Beckville. He was born on Oct. 5, 1946, in San Angelo, TX to the late Acel Woodrow and Vernell Emanuel Carroll Alexander. Al was raised in California where he attended Bakersfield schools. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964-1967, and was honorably discharged. Al married Beverly Gray on June 18, 1988, in Dallas. He worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter and in 1995, began working at Panola College where he retired in 2011. He was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church. Al was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Brian Alexander.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Gray-Alexander of Beckville; sons, Chad Alexander of Richardson, TX and Cody Alexander of Milsap, TX; daughter, Brooke Andrews and husband Brian of Milsap, TX; brothers, Acel Alexander and wife Rachel of Knoxville, Ark., David Alexander and wife Ana of Springdale, Ark., Roy Alexander of West Fork, Ark., and Jay Alexander and wife Robin of Pennsylvania; sisters, Evonne Terman and husband Eddie of Cove, Ark., Frances Alexander of Cove, Ark., and Myren Alexander of Bakersfield, CA; and five grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at New Prospect Cemetery, County Road 212, Beckville, TX with Mike Edens officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Gray, , Dale Gray, Gordon Gray, Brian Gray, David Gray, Charlie Walden, Eddie Walden, Steve Walden, Dave Murley, Collin Edens, David Godwin, Joe Thomas, and Johnny Middlebrook.
