Carol Lynn Smith Gray
Powderly, TX

Carol Lynn Smith Gray 50, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the pavilion at Union Cemetery in Taylortown with Tiny Freelen officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Carol was born on December 6, 1967 in Dallas, Texas the daughter of Gertrude Hignight Smith and John Oscar Smith. She was the widow of Hoy Joe Gray who died June 27, 2009.

Carol is survived by six sisters, Kay Barber, Sharon Emeyabbi, Kathy Lester, Vicky Ward, Donna Smith, and Linna Smith; three brothers, Johnny Dale Smith, Johnny Glenn Smith, and Michael Lynn Smith; many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved and thought the world of including, Jimmy “Kojak” Lester and many more and naming them all would require such a lengthy list. She was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley James Talley and one sister, Linda Gail Smith.

We as a family wanted to say that this is a tragedy, but we know she’s in Heaven with her beloved mother and husband. She will be missed here on earth. Carol was always smiling and cheerful. She was a soldier. She loved selling those purses and loved people. Sister, I hate you had to go, but with that only God knows. I love you so much, but I know in my heart that I will see you again, your sister, Linna Ann.

This is your niece, Sissy. I wanted to tell you that I love you and that I miss you. You will be missed by me so much. I will think of you every day, in my happy moments, in my saddest. You gave me a happy childhood; you never gave up or forgot about me. I am thankful that my children got to know you. We love you so much, Aunt Carol.

Everyone come out and say your goodbyes.
