April 15, 1949 - December 5, 2017
Mr. Fountain passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Nacogdoches. He was born on April 15, 1949 in Nacogdoches, the son of Virgil and Syble Watson Fountain.
Wayland, as most knew him, was raised in Nacogdoches where he spent his childhood learning to hunt and fish. These things became his favorite past times and he could often be found on the lakes and rivers and in the wood. As a young child, he was mischevious and constantly getting into something. He kept his family on their toes, never knowing what he would be into next! Wayland had a love of people. He made his life earnings helping people, and making sure those he worked for, was pleased with what he did. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, who he would constantly pick on. He had a very big heart and a great sense of humor. Knowing him, was understanding that your name was always going to be “Hoss”. Wayland will be missed by his friends and his beloved family, but his legacy of living life to the fullest and making sure to always have a good time, will remain in the hearts of each of them, as they will never forget the joy he brought to their lives.
Mr. Fountain is survived by his sons: Casey Fountain and Robert Allen of Nacogdoches; his daughter, Laura Hernandez and husband, Daniel of Longview, Texas; sisters: Louise Ramey and husband, Jerry Batson of Nacogdoches, Reba Griffith and husband, Mike of Nacogdoches; and one grandson.
He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Fountain, and his sister, Geraldine Fountain.
