Memorial services for Virginia Vanette Statham Boshears, 72 of Tyler, will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Glenwood Church of Christ.
Vanette passed from this worldly life to the arms of her Creator on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Hospice of East Texas. She was born on June 8, 1945 in Tyler, Texas to Van and Arline Mallory Statham.
She was a 1963 graduate of John Tyler High School where she was a member of the Blue Brigade, 1967 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Therapy, and graduated with a Master of Education from University of Texas at Tyler in 1977. Vanette worked in New London as a speech therapist, taught at Kids Kaleidoscope at Pollard Methodist Church, and Little People's School at Glenwood Church of Christ with her dear friend Kathy Foster. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and honored with a lifetime membership of the PTA.
After retirement, for the past fifteen years Vanette enjoyed volunteering at ETMC, East Texas Christian Academy, and PATH.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Vanette is survived by her husband of 50 years, Wayne D. Boshears, her sister Charlotte Danbom of Tyler, children; Jennifer (Mark) Rosenlieb of Tyler, Matt (Tanya) Boshears of Troup, and Suzanne (Jamie) Wyatt of Midlothian; grandchildren, Kearby (Clay) Dickeson of Tyler, Kelsey Rosenlieb of Dallas and Keaton Rosenlieb of Tyler, Jerred (Kelly) Boshears of Troup, Payton Boshears of Troup, Jackson, Luke, and Tanner Wyatt of Midlothian; great grandchildren, Landon and Carter Boshears, Wyatt Dickeson (due in February).
She also leaves behind her life-long best friends Andrea Hayden and Gail Payne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hayden, Frank Payne, Curtis Williams, Jack Womack, James Fife, Dr. Wayne Propst, Allen Thyssen, Dr. Tom Buzbee.
The family would like to thank the wonderful physicians and nurses at East Texas Medical Center, Cardiac ICU; especially Dr. Andrea Cooley, Dr. Hector Torres, and Dr. Thaddeus Tolleson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor to PATH. Vanette felt that she could be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are in the most need at PATH.
