Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Morris, 91 of Carthage, Texas will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, February 11, 2018 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Virginia Louise Morris was born July 12, 1926 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Grady Otha and Winnaford Valera Wyatt Nutt and passed away February 9, 2018 in Carthage. The 2nd of 7 children, Louise attended Carthage Schools graduating from Carthage High School and then attended Panola College. She met and later married Robert Donald Morris on June 2, 1951 and together they celebrated 38 years of marriage. Louise was a homemaker, as well as a Mary Kay representative for over 30 years. A faithful servant of the Lord, Louise was active in her early years at Park Memorial Baptist Church and Hidden Valley Baptist Church, both in Houston, and later joining First Baptist Church of Carthage, where she was a member of the Sertrucha Sunday School Class. She enjoyed sewing, bowling and playing “42”. Louise was preceded in death her parents, husband, sisters, Dorothy Marbach and Sue Risinger; brother, R.B. Nutt, Grady Nutt, Jr. and Baby Boy Nutt.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her daughters, Pamela Morris of Carthage and Rebecca Pacheco of Spring; brothers, Charles Ray Nutt and wife J’Nell of Clear Lake; niece who was like a sister, Sharon Nutt Hooper of Carthage; brothers-in-law, Red Marbach of Houston and Don Risinger of Port Neches; sister-in-law, JoAnn Nutt of Carthage; grandchildren, Jeremy Pacheco and Christopher Pacheco, both of Spring and great grandchild, Zoey Skye Pacheco; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Nutt, Kameron Nutt, Kolt Nutt, Chris Morris, Ken Risinger, Derrick Hooper, Christopher Pacheco and Jeremy Pacheco.
The family requests memorials be made to the Clayton Cemetery Association.
