It’s a love story that is the memories of Eva Gladys Reames McIntosh, 98 of Carthage, Texas. Eva was born on August 26, 1919 in Hughes Springs, Texas. She was one of twelve children born to Henry G. and Annie Eliza Sasnett Reames and she was taken by the Lord’s best Angel on Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Eva married the love of her life, Buford Allen McIntosh on October 26, 1935 and together they celebrated 62 years until he preceded her in death on September 5, 1998. Mrs. McIntosh was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, She is also preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Bobbie Carol McIntosh; her eleven siblings; and son-in-law, Clement Wayne McKnight.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Betty Jean McKnight, Joan Plunkett and husband Vick all of Carthage, Jaunell Howard and husband Curtis of Splendora; grandchildren, Cynthia McKnight Ishee and husband Tommy, Allen McKnight, Danny McKnight and wife Marianna all of Carthage, Keith Coleson of Spring, Marilyn Stokes and husband Alan of Round Rock, Michael Coleson of Granbury, and Chad Lasnau and wife Kari of Kingwood. She loved her eleven great grandchildren and eleven great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. McIntosh will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Landtroop officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the Rehobeth Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.
The family wants to give special gratitude to the loving staff at Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Facility and loving support from HeartsWay Hospice of Northeast Texas and most especially, Stacy Speaks.
