Kevin Ross Floyd, age 33, of Paris, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at U.T. Southwestern William P. Clements University Hospital in Dallas after a long hard fight with pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13th at 10:00am at East Paris Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Edwards, Rev. Mike Fortenberry and Rev. Kelly Adams officiating. A visitation will follow the service.
Ross was born April 23, 1984, in Paris to Randy Floyd and Sherry Grayson Floyd. He was a graduate of Paris High School, class of 2002. He attended Paris Junior College. He played football and baseball for the Paris Wildcats and basketball for several Boys’ Club and church league teams. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when his little brother Kellen was playing. He was previously employed with various oil companies, both in the field and as an account executive, and most recently with Redstone Foods in Carrollton until his illness made it necessary for him to stop working in 2015. He was a member of East Paris Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by grandfathers Richard (PawPaw) Floyd, Paul Gene (Papi) Roden and Gayle (Papaw) Foster, and by uncles Ronald and Rodney Floyd.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sherry and Danny Chennault; father and stepmother, Randy and Kathy Floyd; brother, Kellen Rhett Floyd (also known as R.J. for "Ross Junior"); grandparents, Sherry (Mammaw) Floyd, Larry (Papaw) and Margaret (Nana) Grayson, Jackie (Mimmie) Foster and Anita (Ta) Roden; aunts and uncles, Ricky Floyd (Michelle), Lori Floyd Bachman, Tami Floyd Miles (Kelly), Wendi Floyd Bailey (Larry), Marty Grayson, Clint Grayson, Paul Roden (Kate), Ward Hall (Laurel), Kevin Hall (Tracy Scott), and Stephanie Foster Palmer (Ronnie); cousins, Cody Bachman, Nicholas Grayson, Ryan Floyd, Kaci Bachman Salazar, Tisha Floyd King, Chance Floyd, Blake Miles, Christian Floyd, Christi Miles, Ethan Hall, Arden Hall, Morgan Palmer, Jacob Hall, Brink Hall, Landon Palmer, Ashlynn Grayson, Colby and Emma Floyd, Felix Salazar, Cameron and Alex Floyd, Rylin and Valor King.
Called to serve as honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Carriveau, Erik Armstrong, Ethan Barbee and Parker Lewis.
