John Franklin Slay, age 73, of Nash, Texas, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Slay was born March 4, 1944 in Ida, Louisiana. He was retired from P & S Packing Company and currently a salesman for Bill & Ralph’s Distributing Services and a member of Eylau Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Jean Slay; his parents, John and Ida Mae Slay; and one sister, Maxine Guffey.
Survivors include his wife, Kathaleen Slay of Nash, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Brian Wiswall and Jeannie and Stephen Chase all of Maud, Texas; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Cindy Easterling of Texarkana, and Doug and Linda Easterling of Nash, Texas; one niece, Becky Fellers of Texarkana, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Paige, Devyn, Katelynn, and Gracie Wiswall, Johnathan Hoglan, Hunner and Kyle Chase, and Jessica, Laiken, Amanda, Danna, and Dalton Easterling; four great-grandchildren, Ave Huerra, Claire Massie, Aurora Nolan and Maizy Foltz.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Eylau Christian Church with the Revs. Roy Freeman and Carl Teel officiating. Burial will follow in Eylau Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Chapelwood Funeral Home.
