Memorial services for Elton Eugene “Bubba” Harrell, 67, of Palestine are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel in Palestine with Brother Rod Skelton officiating. 

Graveside services and inurnment will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 1:00 PM at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen under the direction of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mr. Harrell passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Mr. Harrell was born July 19, 1950, in Scotland Neck, NC to Garvey Lee Harrell and Marion Elouise Harrell. He was retired from the US Army and was a life member of VFW, DAV, RA, and VVA. He loved drag racing and was a member of the NHRA. He has been a Dallas Cowboy supporter since Tom Landry had hair. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years Carol Harrell of Palestine, son Pat Kilpatrick and daughter-in-law Kelly of Tomball, son Robert Kilpatrick of North Richland Hills, son Jeff Harrell of Houston, sister Deborah Whitley and brother-in-law Danny of Rocky Mount, NC, four grandchildren Ashley Cunningham and husband Brandon of Magnolia, Travis Kilpatrick of Tomball, Dallis Harrell of Lafayette, LA, Dakota Harrell of Houston, one great grandchild Brooklynn Cunningham of Magnolia, three special nephews Daniel Whitley, Dwayne Whitley, David Poliquin, and loving pet Kokoa.
